Motor-drive zoom lens for SLR camera

The motor-driven zoom lens moves along the optical axis for altering the focal length. The lens is releasably attached to the camera body. A detector determines the focal length setting of the lens, and the focal length values are stored in a memory. The motor is regulated by a control unit to drive the lens until a prestored focal length is reached. An actuator switch is provided for activating the motor drive so that the lens is moved between a wide-angle and a telephoto setting. Pref. the focal length settings are stored in a memory in the camera body and transferred to the lens via input/output devices.
