The invention concerns a method for setting an electric motor, which consists, during a non-powering sequence of at least one of the motor (1) phases, in measuring on a predetermined time window (15), the induced voltage (Ti) in the non-powered phase and in comparing its mean value to a threshold value (Ts) to stop powering of said motor (1) on the current sequence if said measured mean value is less than said threshold value.
