The socket has a socket housing (12) containing a contact holder part (16) with through openings (22) for accommodating contact sleeves (18,18') connected to electrical leads (20) and held by a contact carrier body (24) and at least one electronic component (28) mounted in the housing. The electronic component(s) can be mounted on the contact carrier body. The contact carrier body is a circuit board for accommodating and connecting a number of components.
