The fiber producing process involves moving a wooden block relative to a tool carrier (10), first passing it over several spaced-out rotating disks (16) projecting from the tool carrier running surface to make grooves in the block, and then over a plane iron (20) parallel to the tool carrier running surface to shave of the parts between the grooves to produce the wood wool fibers.
