Rudder deflection can be modulated with a control pulse which comprises an additional rudder deflection with a vibration dampening effect. The load hoisting device can be movable in the loading bay (102) length and/or cross-direction. Independent claims are also included for (a) a method for counterbalancing the position of an LTA craft during the setting down of a load, and (b) a method for setting down a load onto the ground from an LTA craft.
