PROCESS FOR THE TREATMENT OF A WASTE WATER

Process for the treatment of a waste water feed containing organic contaminants comprising the steps of (a) subjecting the waste water feed to a freeze-concentration treatment thereby producing at least a brine stream and a water stream having a reduced content of organic contaminants; and (b) subjecting this water stream to a reverse osmosis treatment thereby producing a purified water stream as the permeate and a relatively contaminated water stream as retentate.
