The drying kiln for workpieces, in a surface treatment process, has at least two conveyor paths and the conveyor system. The conveyor paths (4,5) have integrated swing systems supporting the workpiece carriers (2). One conveyor path (4) takes the workpiece carriers (2) with the workpieces from the coating bath, while the other conveyor path (5) is at rest, and the workpiece carriers (2) are pitched alternately at different angles. The operation is repeated with the second conveyor path (5) in use while the first path (4) is at rest.
