The housing is for mounting on a bearer (5) and especially for containing one or more electrical switches. It has at least one mounting (4) that engages a holder (6) in the bearer in force- and/or shape-locking manner after mounting. The mounting consists of a housing fitting (7) and a supporting element (8). The fitting is attached to the housing and after attaching the fitting rests on the supporting element and the supporting element engages the holder so that a force- and/or shape-locking connection is made between the fitting and the holder via the supporting element.
