PURPOSE: A power generating apparatus is provided to reduce a vibration and a noise by converting a vibration motion into a rotational motion using an electrical energy. CONSTITUTION: A power generating apparatus comprises a vibration generating device(3) and a rotational motion converting mechanism(5). The vibration generating device(3) for generating a vibration by supplying an electric power source is composed of a quartz vibrator. The rotational motion converting mechanism is activated by the vibration motion of the vibration generating device and is converted the vibration motion into the rotational motion. The rotational motion converting mechanism(5) comprises a driving member(9) and a driven wheel(11). The driving member(9) is mounted through a return member(13) to perform reciprocal swiveling motion in a limited swivel angular range in central point by the vibration motion of the vibration generating device. The driven wheel(11) is mounted in rotation axis(7) to perform the rotational motion by a friction force according to the reciprocal swiveling motion of an end portion of the driving member and have teeth(15) formed on the circumference to transfer efficiently the power with the driving member.
