PURPOSE: A device and method for preventing operation shock of a damper clutch is provided to prevent operation shock by slowly reducing operation duty while releasing a damper clutch. CONSTITUTION: A device for preventing operation shock of a damper clutch comprises a turbine RPM(Revolution Per Minute) sensing unit(10) detecting RPM of a turbine; a throttle opening sensing unit(20) sensing opening amount if a throttle valve interlocked with an acceleration pedal; an engine RPM sensing unit(30) detecting the engine RPM according to operation of the engine; a controlling unit(40) outputting a control signal reducing duty value according to established slant while releasing the damper clutch; and a damper clutch driving unit supplying hydraulic pressure into the damper clutch according to the control signal by being connected to an output end of the controlling unit. Thereby, the device for preventing the operation shock of the damper clutch prevent operation shock by slowly reducing operation duty.
