<p>A regenerated collagen fiber which is light-colored, feels excellent to the touch when it is wet, can be easily made to have a desired shape, and can tenaciously retain the shape. Further, the regenerated collagen fiber can be inhibited from emitting an odor during heating. The fiber is one obtained by treating collagen with a monofunctional epoxy compound and an aluminum salt. Also provided is a process for producing a regenerated collagen fiber characterized by treating collagen with a monofunctional epoxy compound and then treating it with an aluminum salt in such a manner that the collagen comes to contain the aluminum salt in an amount of 2 to 40 wt.% in terms of aluminum oxide (Al2O3).</p> |
