Plastic powder molding process to produce thin walled components, especially cladding for a vehicle instrument panel, uses superheated steam for tool heating

Superheated steam at high pressure is used to preheat a molding tool (1) and melt a plastic powder (5) added to the tool cavity. The powder is then gelled and cooled before demolding the final product. An Independent claim is made for a molding tool with nozzles (4) for direct feeding of superheated steam.
