METHOD FOR COMPARING EXPRESSION PATTERNS OF GENES

A method for determining the extent to which two genes have identical or reciprocal expression patterns relative to a set of cells. The method comprises a step of determining whether the expression level of the first gene is positively or negatively correlated with the expression level of the second gene. The method may be used for determining whether the two genes have a common regulatory mechanism. The method may also be used to detect regulatory sequences.
