PURPOSE: Rear seat structure for protecting passengers is provided to fold a rear seat by a cylinder member at a head-on collision, and to improve stability by preventing passengers in the rear seat from being injured. CONSTITUTION: A rear seat for protecting passengers is composed of a fixing member(10) protruded in a seat back to fix the rear seat in an inner quarter panel; an air bag operating sensor(20) outputting a signal to operate an air bag at a head-on collision; a seat operating member(30) fixed in a rear floor panel and a front cross member, and folding the rear seat around a hinge shaft according to the signal from the air bag operating sensor; and a connecting pin(40) protruded in the end of the rear seat to connect the seat operating member to the rear seat. The rear seat is folded with the seat operating member at the head-on collision. Passengers are protected efficiently with folding the rear seat at the collision.
