SYSTEM ND METHOD FOR TESTING SOUND QUALITY OF VOCODER IN CDMA MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A system and a method for testing the sound quality of a vocoder in a CDMA mobile telecommunication system are provided to check the status of a vocoder by executing a sound quality test in a method comparing the frequency and power of an original signal with the frequency and power of the decoded signal. CONSTITUTION: A controller sets up a loop path so that a signal generated from a VQTU(Vocoder Quality Test Unit) can be returned to the VQTU through required points. The controller controls the VQTU so that a sinusoid signal having an appointed single frequency can be outputted through the appointed loop path. If the sinusoid signal is inputted to the VQTU through the appointed loop path, the VQTU measures the frequency and power of the returned sinusoid signal. The controller compares the frequency and power of the returned sinusoid signal with the frequency and power of the original sinusoid signal and calculates how much the deviation has been generated. Based on the calculated deviation, the controller determines a result for the sound quality test.
