A display module (20) is disclosed which may be employed in a portable device or the like. The module (20) comprises a liquid crystal display device comprising a liquid crystal display (21), and a display driver element (25) for driving the LCD. It also comprises a connector (262) for connecting LCD device circuitry to the portable device, and an intermediate element (26) for interfacing the LCD device and the connector. Optionally there are two display drivers (251) at opposite sides of the LCD (21) which are preferably interconnected by the intermediate element (26). The LCD (21) may comprise first and second liquid crystal cells (fig.1, items 12 and 13). |
