The automobile clutch (3) is supplied with control signals for switching the clutch between different positions, in which the drive torque provided by the engine (2) is transmitted to the gearbox (4), the drive between the engine and the gearbox is interrupted, or in which the drive is transmitted to allow a creep movement of the automobile, in dependence on monitored operating parameters.
