The hinge device consists of a seat support (4), with an annular cavity (11), and a seat back support (5), which is linked to the seat support, so as to pivot around an axis through the seat support cavity. A series of circular elements (12, 18) are fitted co-axially into the support cavity, to the two supports to enable the back support to pivot relative to the seat support. A locking device (22), which is sensitive to accelerations, acts on the toothed periphery (18a, 18b) of one of the elements, to lock the hinge in the case of sudden accelerations. |
