A valve having channels for directing fluid to a diagnostic card (1) including fluid transfer devices, is new. The card has two surfaces (4, 5) connected by an edge (6). The valve has a thin and/or deformable film partly attached to one surface and a device for compressing the film. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a diagnostic card including the novel valves some/all of which are arranged along an edge of the card; and (2) an apparatus including a storage zone for cards of (1), separated by an intermediate zone from a control zone for opening and closing the valves on the cards.
