The relief valve for a fuel tank comprises a flap (5) closing an orifice communicating the tank inside (I) with the outside (E). The flap is maintained in the closed position by a spring (7) resting on a support (9). The valve has a piston (20) enabling all or part of the spring support to be retracted so as to decrease the force exerted by the spring on the flap. The support has weakened part (15) capable of being ruptured by the movable piston actuated by a pyrotechnic gas generator (27).
