A battery (10) for use with a modular battery assembly (12) is provided. The battery (10) includes two poles, with each pole including a dual terminal. Each dual terminal includes a first connector (18) and a second connector (39). The battery (12) is adapted to be mounted in either of a first housing (20), with a wiring board having a prewired circuit located thereon connected to slide-in terminals (26) arranged on the wiring board, and a second housing (50) without prewired circuit. The slide-in terminals (26) arranged on the wiring board are adapted to be located in complementary positions to the first connectors (18) on the battery (10) such that when the battery (10) is slidably received in the first housing (20), the first connectors (18) are adapted to be received in the complementarily positioned slide-in terminals (26), and when the battery (10) is located in the second housing (50), the second connectors (39) are connectable using jumpers (52) such that the battery (10) is adapted to be used interchangeably in the first and second housings. |
