<p>A respiratory mask (100), or a connector (10) for a respiratory mask and a supply conduit (31), having a gas washout vent passage (32, 110). The passage inlet is adjacent to, or forms part of, the mask shell (102) in fluid communication with the interior of the mask (100) and an outlet (40, 118) in fluid communication with atmosphere. The outlet interior surface forms a smooth prolongation with an adjacent exterior surface of the mask (100), or the connector (10), and directs the washout gas, respectively, in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mask inlet (106) and away from the mask inlet (106) or substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the supply conduit (31) and towards the supply conduit end (30).</p> |
