<p>The present invention relates to materials and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of pre-eclampsia and related conditions characterised by platelet aggregation. In particular it relates to the use of adenosine diphosphatase (ADPase) and activators of ADPase for the treatment of pre-eclampsia, in order to overcome the inhibition of ADPase by inositol phosphoglycans (IPGs). Also provided is a method for screening for compounds with ADPase-stimulatory activity in the presence or absence of IPGs.</p> |
