The invention relates to a magnetic head supporting mechanism in a magnetic disk device that realizes mounting and removing of a suspension arm to a rotary body with a simple structure and a simple work, and provides the magnetic head supporting mechanism having high reliability by obviating a problem associated with mounting of the suspension arm and a magnetic head such as a failure in positioning and so on. The structure is to secure the suspension arm (16), of which a first end carries a magnetic head attached thereto, by pressing it to a rotary body (17) with a compression force of a waveform washer (19) by inserting a second end having a semi-annular shape of the suspension arm (16) together with the waveform washer (19) into each of a plurality of grooves (18) provided in a peripheral surface of a spindle-like rotary body (17) in planes perpendicular to an axial direction of it.
