The energy guide chain has chain components connected together, each having two parallel shackles (1,2). The shackles can pivot in at least one pivoting direction about a rotation point. The pivoting is limited by stop bodies (9',12') having stop surfaces. The stop surfaces of co-operating stop bodies are curved and extend about the rotation point. The stop surface preferably taper about the rotation point from a maximum radius to a rotationally offset minimum radius.
