Ion-selective glass comprising (%, by weight) (50.5-60.0) SiO2, (10.5-15.5) Li2O, (9.7-14.8) La2O3, (13.2-24.3) Nd2O3 and (3.2-9.8) Nb2O3, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the novel electrode glass, comprising: (a) weighing out the starting amounts of the components as water-free oxides except Li2O which is to be inserted as Li2CO3; (b) homogenizing in a mill; and (c) melting at 1450 deg C in a covered platinum crucible for one hour to form the ion-selective glass.
