<p>The invention concerns a crankset of with two crankarms exceeding eight inches 25.4 millimetres enabling at any time to shift the drive force from one crankarm to the other crankarm resulting in values of minimum torque close to the maximum possible torque. The invention concerns a device enabling the use of crankarms exceeding eight inches by adding a gear box bearing the bottom bracket axes in front of the standard crankset of a bicycle, and the oscillations of the crankarms at the rear of said axes, by mechanisms contained in the gear box which perform the reciprocating movement of the crankarms, converting the reciprocating movement of the crankshafts into a one-way rotational movement of the other shafts and multiplying the internal rotational speed to enhance transmission to the device coupling the box to the standard crankset axe, by integrating the existing transmission between the crankset and the rear wheel, by a device enabling to displace the midpoint of the oscillations, by a device enabling to limit the amplitude of the oscillations, by means for changing the operational sectors of the gears without opening the gear box, by means fixing the gear box facilitating the adjustments of position.</p> |
