A herbicidal composition contains (A) a (hetero)aryloxypropionic acid or cyclohexanedione and (B) at least one of a range of other herbicides which are selectively active in rice. A herbicidal composition contains as active agents: (A) one or more of heteroaryloxy- or aryloxy-phenoxypropionic acids and their salts and esters and cyclohexanediones; and (B) one or more herbicides, different from (A) and selective in rice, selected from: (a) herbicides mainly for controlling monocotyledonous plants; (b) herbicides mainly for controlling dicotyledonous weeds and Cyperaceae; (c) herbicides mainly for controlling Cyperaceae; and (d) herbicides mainly for controlling mono- and dicotyledonous weeds and Cyperaceae.
