<p>cutting equipment used in spinning machines. SUBSTANCE: cutting apparatus has cutting device with supporting member mounted in through opening for sliding and engagement with end of first cutting member disposed opposite first end of through opening. Second cutting member has flat surface which is brought in contact with flat cutting surface of first cutting member, when piston and first cutting member are offset from opening first end to opening second end. Piston is mounted in casing opening for engagement with first cutting member end adjacent to first end of opening. Flat surface of second cutting member is positioned so that it may be biased to flat cutting surface of first cutting member and aligned for providing surface-to-surface contact with flat cutting surface of first cutting member. Support is positioned on casing for sliding engagement with flat supporting surface of first cutting member for preventing first cutting member from being turned due to biasing of second cutting member in the process of displacement of first cutting member from first end of opening toward second end of opening. Apparatus may be used for cutting yarn during high-speed spinning operations.
