PURPOSE:To provide a power switch mechanism of piano which eliminates the need to provide a power switch on the surface of the piano and never spoils the outward appearance of the piano. CONSTITUTION:The upright piano 1 is equipped with a string striking mechanism 7 which strikes strings according to the operation on the keyboard 3 and can be played on as an acoustic piano, and, an electronic sound source 9 which is controlled according to the operation on the keyboard 3 is incorporated and this piano can be played on as an electronic piano. This upright piano 1 is equipped with a stopping mechanism 13 which stops a musical sound from being generated by the string striking mechanism 7 when a musical performance is performed by the electronic sound source 9, a pedal mechanism 17 which has a muffler pedal 16, etc., a control part 19 which is driven by electric power supplied from a power source 18 and controls the electronic sound source 9 according to the operation on the keyboard 3 to carry on the musical performance, and a power switch 21 which is turned on and off by stepping in the muffler pedal 16 and electrically connects and disconnects the power source 18 to a control part 19. |
