A seismic prospecting technique uses a source to propagate waves underground and generates data from lines of receptors receiving waves reflected from underground layer(s). The data is processed to produce additional line(s) of receptors producing estimated data near to the lines of actual receptors. Preferred Features: An additional line may be between pairs of actual lines. A fast Fourier transform calculates frequency bands from the data. A 'window' is defined by a sub-group of receptors in each line. A prediction filter for each frequency band is connected to the sub-group and uses an iterative calculation to produce the estimated data within a relatively smaller 'window'.
