The base station antenna has elements (6A-6C) inside quarter wave dielectric or artificial dielectric layers (7A-7C), (8A-8C) of successively alternating dielectric constant which focus the radiated beam to increase the gain. Elements of different frequencies are stacked above each other. The method is based on H.Y.Yang et al, IEEE Trans AP-35, No 7 July 1987, p 860-863.
