<p>A polyolefin obtained by catalytic dimerisation of at least monosaturated olefin oligomers, these being homo- or co-oligomers of C3-6-olefins; selected from propene, 1-butene, isobutene, 1-pentene, 2-methylbutene, 1-hexene, 2-methylpentene, 3-methylpentene or 4-methylpentene. The polyolefin having a number mean molecular weight in the range of 400 to 1,500 dalton and a dispersibility of Mw/Mn < 1.2 and being monoethylenically unsaturated. The functionalised polyolefin is described as Formula (I), wherein; R is a polyolefin radical; i is an integer from 1-4 and when i is 1, X is a functional group of Formula (II). k and l, independently of one another, are each 0 or 1, R' is hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxylalkyl, aminoalkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl or -Y-Z, -Y- is a group represent Formula (III), wherein Alk and Alk' are identical or different and are each C2-4alkylene, p is an integer from 0-10, and R'' is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, and -Z- is selected amongst Formula (IV), wherein R1 and R2 is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aryl or aralkyl; A is C3-5-alkylene; A' is C2-4-alkylene or C2-4-alkenylene; m is 1 or 2, L is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, hetaryl or hetaralkyl; and Z' is selected amongst Formula (V), where R3-R12 is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, hetaryl, aralkyl or hetaralkyl, q is 1-50 and Alk' is C2-4-alkylene. The derivatives of these polyolefins which can be obtained by functionalizing at least a double link of the polyolefin. The polyolefins and/or functionalisation products serve as additives for fuels or lubricants.</p> |
