The invention relates to a main plate (10) presenting a cavity (12) for a wiper drive, support points (14) for wiper bearings and mounting points (16) for fixing the main plate to a motor vehicle. The invention provides for the main plate (10) to consist of at least two components. A bent sheet metal part (18) in the shape of a half shell is joined by injection moulding to a plastic part (20) which supports the bent sheet metal part (18) on the inside.
