<p>A Fe-Ni based material for a shadow mask being used as a material of a cathode-ray tube, such as a Fe-Ni alloy and a Fe-Ni-Co alloy, characterized in that it has a texture having an X-ray intensity ratio, Ir, between the cubic orientation (100)<001⊃ in the (111) pole figure and the twin orientation thereof (221)<212⊃ of the range of 0.5 to 5 : 1, the segregation of Ni, Mn and the like is reduced, and it has an index of cleanliness for a cross section according to JIS G 0555 of 0.05 % or less. The above material is almost free from the occurrence of irregular stripes and mottles in photo-etching.</p> |
