The vehicle has one or more passenger/driver shells. The front end of a shell (4) is pivoted about a transverse axis (10) in the vehicle (1), between a traveling position (4) and an access position (4'). In traveling position, the rear end section of the shell is supported on a stop on the vehicle chassis. In access position, entry and exit of a passenger are made easier, and the rear end section is higher relative to the traveling position. Each shell has a seat, and may be connected to windscreen, a roof, and a cockpit to form a pivoted modular unit. The shell consists of carbon aramide and is of sandwich construction with an insulating central layer.
