The invention relates to a fastening element for a control cable, comprising an oblong base body (1) which consists of a synthetic material. Said base body comprises a fastening section (3) for the end of the control cable and a ring-shaped receiving body (2), whereby an elastic, rubber damping element (5) is located radially inside the receiving body (2) and a receiving sleeve (4) consisting of a low-friction material is positioned inside said damping element. A fastening pin (10) can be inserted into the receiving sleeve (4). The invention aims to create a cost-effective fastening element which is resistant to wear. This is achieved by providing the damping element (5) with a continuous recess (6) between its front edge area in the longitudinal direction and the neighbouring area which adjoins the receiving sleeve (4) and a continuous recess (6) between its rear edge area in the longitudinal direction and the neighbouring area which adjoins the receiving sleeve (4). The outer edge area of the damping element (5) is connected to the inner area of the damping element (5) which bears the receiving sleeve (4) by two lateral struts.
