An oral appliance for reducing the occurrence of snoring, comprises a generally U-shaped platform (10) formed with flanges (e.g. 12, 16) extending along its inner and outer edges and projecting from either side of the platform to define upper and lower U-shaped channels for receiving the teeth of the upper and lower jaws, respectively. At least one vent passage (20, 22) is formed through the platform (10).
