The invention relates to a method for correcting an angle error of an absolute angle sensor (2) which determines the angular position of a first shaft (1) whose rotational movement is linked to a second shaft (3). The invention is characterised in that the angular position of the second shaft (3) is determined first during at least one complete rotation of the first shaft (1), the corresponding angular position of the first shaft (1) is determined, the corresponding starting value of the absolute angle sensor (2) is compared with the angular position of the first shaft (1) and the difference resulting from the comparison is saved. The starting value of the absolute angle sensor (2) is then corrected with the relevant saved value.
