Communication between service switching points (SSP1 to SSP3) of the communication network and service control points (SCP1 to SCP3) is carried via one central monitoring manager (LIM) for all service control units. The central monitoring manager is triggered for a communication connection if one of the service control points (SCP1) is triggered for this connection by one of the service switching points (SSP1). When triggered, the central monitoring manager monitors the respective service switching point and service control point and uses the information exchanged between them and a filter criteria to determine if the communication connection is to be tapped or not. The central monitoring manager initiates the tapping of the connection accordingly. Independent claims are included for a monitoring manager and a service point platform. |
