<p>A metal plate (16) is formed in a process comprising cutting, perforating or both, by forcing the plate (16), by means of an abrupt and intense force towards a mold (12) having openings (27) or boundaries defined by wall sections (22, 28) which extend essentially normal to the forming plane of the mold (12). Consequently, the plate (16) is cut along the edges (20) of the openings (27) or boundaries. The force may be a pulsed magnetic force or may be a force generated as a result of the discharge of electric current through a fluid.</p> |
