Isolated neuronal cell material (A) that contains no physiologically active, immunocompetent glial cells, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) transplantable neuronal cell material (B) obtained from (A); (2) progenitor cell lines (C) from monoclonal mammalian, preferably human, progenitor cells that have been exclusively, or predominantly, differentiated into neuronal cells by addition of suitable differentiation agents; (3) producing (M1) cell cultures, capable of growth, from progenitor cells; (4) cell cultures produced by (M1); and (5) transplantable neuronal cell materials obtained from cultures of (4).
