The present invention relates to two-stroke uniflow-scavenge internal combustion engines comprising toroidal cylinders as well as two-sided pistons. The engine includes a body in the form of two toroidal segments which are connected by the planes defined by the segment faces. The combustion chambers are provided at the places where the segment toroidal cylinders are connected. Each toroidal segment includes a two-sided piston connected to a shaft by a crank, wherein the shaft is provided along the axis of the toroidal segment. Crankshafts are arranged axially within the shafts supporting the cranks.
