The invention concerns a novel copolymer comprising at least two identical or different monomers, the monomer corresponding to formula (I) wherein a) when X and Y are identical or different, and represent an acid, alcohol, amine or isocyanate group, then at least two monomers have groups capable of reacting with each other when X and Y are identical, or then at least one monomer comprises groups capable of reacting with one another when X and Y are different and, at least one of the monomers has the following characteristics: a ≥ 1; b ≥ 2; c + d ≥ 0; e ≥ 1; and Z can be OH, COOH, a C1-C18 alkyl, or any other non-reactive group present during the polymerisation process, the other monomers being of the same type or of formula (II): Y - (CH2)n - X with 1 ≤ n; b) at least one monomer of each type when X and Y are identical or different, such as defined above, are combined such that the stoichiometry of the ratio X/Y, calculated to obtain a molar mass and specific end points, enable an extension of the carbon chain. The invention also concerns a composition comprising the copolymer and the uses of the copolymer and the composition.
