The invention concerns a hydrophilic cotton product consisting entirely of cotton fibres and comprising at least first and second external layers. The invention is characterised in that the first layer consists of fine fibres having low micronaire value forming a soft surface and the second layer consists of fibres having a higher micronaire value forming a scraping surface. The inventive product is particularly designed to be used in cosmetics for putting on and/or removing skin make-up.
