A device for pre-drying the welding area of a welding die (F) for metal-heat welding of the ends of rail joints, comprising a frame (1',1 ) which can be placed on the upper side of the welding die and which has a part (1 ) which extends vertically in an upwards direction, surrounding the pouring gate (E) of said die. Said frame part includes a preferably copper conduit arrangement (R) which comprises, from top to bottom, a holder (2) for a gas cartridge (3), preferably a liquid gas cartridge, a stop-valve (4) and an evaporation unit (5',5 ) and which is provided with a burner (6) on the lower end, placed at a distance from the pouring gate. |
