The mower comprises a cutting mechanism (4) which extends transversely to the working direction and a coupling structure (3) connecting to a tractor (1). A support beam (5) is connected to the cutting mechanism and to the coupling structure by a first (6a) and second articulations. The support beam and the cutting mechanism can be moved between transport and working positions by a lifting actuator (20). The lifting actuator is connected to a absorber part (30) which absorbs sudden movements of the support beam relative to the coupling structure when the support beam and the cutting mechanism are respectively in the operating and transport position.
