The navigation system (1) includes a storage device for map data and a display for navigation data. The navigation system is provided with a receiver interface (8) via which input data can be supplied. The navigation system is installed in a compartment in the dashboard of the vehicle. The receiver interface is provided with a high frequency interface, an infrared interface or an input socket. The data may be alphanumeric data corresponding to the destination. A database device (2) may be used as a source for the input data. The database device may be a personal digital assistant, e.g. with handwriting- or pattern-recognition. A connection may be made to a computer (3) interface or business card insertion slot. |
