Sealing composition comprises a polymer forming matrix and saccharides/inorganic clay and highly absorbent polymer. Sealing composition comprises a matrix containing oligomers and/or polymers forming elastomers under the influence of moisture and their crosslinkers and a particulate material that takes up water from: (A) polysaccharides from cellulose, starch (derivatives), amylose, dextrane, pectin, inulin, chitin, xanthan, alginic acid, alginate, carrageenan, pustulan, callose, laminarin, gulorinic acid, pullan and/or lichenin and/or inorganic clay; and (B) a highly absorbent polymer from (meth)acrylate, poly(meth)acrylic acid and their salts, polyacrylamide, polyalcohol or their copolymers and/or highly absorbent grafted starch and/or grafted cellulose.
