PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate toner replacement and to take out cartridges in an arbitrary order when replacing them, by opening/closing a toner replacement cover to trigger toner cartridge movement and replacing the toner cartridge moved to a toner take-out opening. SOLUTION: A toner replacement process is started from the moment when a toner replacement cover CC is opened. That is, a loop for returning to a state right before the step of closing the toner replacement cover CC is formed if the cover is not closed. When the toner replacement cover CC is closed, the toner is rotated by 90 deg., a magenta(M) toner cartridge is brought to a toner take-out opening, as from a state A to a state B, and the process is completed. When the toner replacement cover CC is opened during the state B, a state C in which the M toner is situated in the take-out opening is reached and the M toner can be replaced. Here, when the toner replacement cover CC is closed subsequently a state D is reached. When the cover is opened again, a state E in which C toner is situated in the take-out opening is reached and the C toner can be replaced. |
